Quelab will be holding classes on basic welding and metal fabrication. Lessons will include metal awareness, classifications, necessary tool and equipment use and care, setting up your own shop, cutting, dressing, preparation, use of torches, stick and MIG welding, and introduction to metal fabrication, planning and designing metal projects, properly clamping and tacking items, and weld order to facilitate smooth and easy project design and execution. Each class will be 2 hours crammed full of useful information and instruction from historical to modern usages of different metals.
This will be a workshop style class. No previous welding or shop knowledge is needed, every class is tailored to the needs and interests of the students. Please bring a pair of well fitted roper style gloves for the shop work, Quelab will provide welding gloves. Please wear leather shoes, and 100% cotton clothing. Jeans and long sleeves preferred. All other safety gear is included.
Will Smith, our Instructor for our Metal Fab/ Welding classes has been employed in the Metal Fab field for over 46 years and has been instructing classes and methodology for different types of metals and industries, from aircraft to naval vessels, fireplaces, pipelines, structural trusses, and dragons. He has designed classes for juveniles and women specifically to teach welding and metal design, and repair, for Government entities and private corporations.
